Who we are

This website is operated by Webineering LLC, which you may also know as Webineering Group or simply Webineering. Those are trading names; Webineering LLC is the company, and it is formed in Ohio, in the United States. We decide what this site collects and why, which makes us the data controller for it.

What this covers

This policy is about this website: people who visit it, and people who contact us through it. If we are working together on an engagement, what we do with your plant data, drawings and process information is governed by the agreement we signed with you, not by this page.

Using the site itself is covered by our terms of use.

What we do with what you tell us

Most people who write to us are describing a problem they have not announced inside their own company yet. So, plainly:

Your enquiry is read by the people here who can answer it, and nobody else. We do not tell anyone that you contacted us, and that includes anyone at your company you have not named yourself. We do not pass what you describe to another client, and we do not publish it.

If we go on to work together, what either of us may say publicly about that work is set out in the agreement we sign. Any case study we write comes from that agreement and from work we actually did, with your say-so. It never comes from an enquiry.

If you would rather not put the details in writing before we have spoken, say so in the message and we will arrange a call instead. A sentence is enough to start.

What we collect, and why

You give us your name and email address only when you fill in a form. We do not ask you for anything just for reading.

When you contact us. Your name, email address, company, role, how urgent your situation is, and your message. We use it to reply and to keep track of the conversation. Our basis for this is legitimate interest: you asked us a question, and answering it is the point.

When you subscribe. Your email address, so we can send you what you asked for. Our basis is your consent, and you can leave at any time.

When you just read. Our host records the ordinary technical detail of a web request, including your IP address, which is how any website works and how we keep this one running. It also measures how quickly pages load, which sets no cookie and identifies nobody. The analytics that do set cookies are separate, and load only if you accept them.

We do not sell personal data. We do not buy contact lists and mail people who never asked to hear from us.

Cookies

We ask before setting analytics cookies. Decline and the site works exactly the same, because nothing here depends on them. The bot check on our forms sets its own cookies when it runs, and those are not optional, because without it the forms are open to scripts.

Your answer is kept in your browser's local storage rather than in a cookie, which means it never travels to us with every request. We treat it the same way either way.

Once you have answered, a Cookie settings link appears at the bottom of every page and you can change your answer there. One click puts the question back and stops us collecting anything further. A script that has already started on the page you are on may finish it. Declining also clears PostHog's own cookies. Google's stay in your browser until you clear them, which is not something we can do from our side.

Some browsers can send a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. On this site it makes no difference either way: nothing that tracks you loads at all unless you accept it first.

Services that process it

These are the services that handle information you give us through this site, what each one receives, and where it is processed.

This list changes when our tools change. It was last checked on 14 September 2026.

Where your information goes

Most of the services above are based in the United States, so if you are writing to us from elsewhere your information is processed there.

Where information leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards in our providers' data processing terms. In practice that means the provider operating under an approved adequacy framework, or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and subscriptions. We keep these for as long as we are working with you or may work with you.

Analytics. Each analytics service expires its detailed records after a period that product sets. We also keep a copy of the underlying events in our own Google account, for as long as it is useful for comparing one period with another. None of it carries your name or your email address.

If you ask us to delete your information, we do.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us for any of the following, and we will not charge you for it. We answer as quickly as we can, and where the law sets a deadline, we work to it.

• Ask what we holdWe will tell you, and give you a copy.
• Correct itIf something is wrong, we will fix it.
• Delete itWe will remove it, unless the law or our accountant needs us to keep it, an invoice being the usual example.
• Object, or withdraw consentYou can tell us to stop using your information, and you can change your cookie choice at any time.
• Put it on holdIf you think something we hold is wrong, or should not be used, you can ask us to park it rather than delete it while we sort that out.
• Take it elsewhereWe will provide what you gave us in a portable format.
• ComplainYou can raise a complaint with your local data protection authority, or in the United States with your state attorney general. We would rather you came to us first, but it is your right either way.

Keeping it safe

Enquiries land in one place, and only the people who answer them have an account that can see it. The site is served over HTTPS. The providers listed above are large companies that are independently audited, so you are not being asked to take our word for their security. Nobody can promise perfect security and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What we can say is that we do not collect anything we do not need, which is the part that reduces the damage if something does go wrong.

Children

This site is for people doing their jobs in manufacturing. It is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, this page changes and the date at the top moves with it. Check that date to see whether anything has moved since you last read it. We are not going to email anyone about a wording fix.

For anything on this page, including asking what we hold or asking us to delete it, email privacy@webineeringgroup.com. It reaches a monitored mailbox that a person reads.
